Margaret L. Nemec, 92, of West, passed away Wednesday morning, June 7, 2006, in a Waco hospital. Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 9, at St. Mary's Church of the Assumption in West with the Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in West. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Kotch Funeral Home in West. Margaret was born in West, Texas, to the late Joel and Lillian (Smajstrla) Holy, and had lived in the West area all of her life. She married Louis Nemec on April 19, 1938, in West. She was a member of St. Mary's Church of the Assumption and K.J.Z.T. Society #11 of West. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and canning. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis, on January 18, 1987. Survivors include her sons: Louis J. Nemec and his wife, Luritha, and Charles J. Nemec and his wife, Marsha, all of West, Thomas P. Nemec and his wife, Linda, of Taylor; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Joe Holy, Jr., and his wife, Lorene, and Charlie Holy and his wife, Theresa, all of West; sisters, Wilma Kaluza and Martha Sinkule, both of West; several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
