A.P. Matus, Sr., 73, Dies; Rites Held Thursday A.P. Matus, Sr., 73, of West, died Tuesday morning in a local hospital. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Church of the Assumption. Funeral services were held at noon Thursday in St. Mary's Church of the Assumption with Rev. Earl Hedberg officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mr. Matus was a native of Tours. He had lived in the West area all of his life. He was a retired farmer. In 1920, he married Frances Cvikel in West. He was a member of SPJST Lodge No. 54 and St. Mary's Church of the Assumption. Survivors include his wife; one son, A.P. Matus, Jr. of West; five daughters, Mrs. Louis Ford of Dallas, Mrs. Frances Wills of Waco, Mrs. Mary Joe Marek of Mart, Mrs. Betty Pareya of West and Mrs. Elizabeth Hejl of Ross; four brothers, Frank Matus and Joe Matus, both of West, John Matus of Elm Mott and Ed Matus of Wichita Falls; one sister, Mrs. Mary Gerik of Ross; and 13 grandchildren.
