Henry J. Machac, age 70, of Route 5, Waco, died Wednesday afternoon, December 27, 1989 in a Waco hospital. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel, West. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday I St. Mary’s Catholic Church, West; with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery, West. Mr. Machac was born January 11, 1919 in Hill County and had lived in the Waco area for 38 years. He married Gertrude Schroeder on October 1, 1940 in Tours. He was a retired dairyman and farmer and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bill Machac of Clifton and Lawrence Machac of Route 5, Waco; a daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Betty) Pavelka of Route 5, Waco; three brothers, Raymond Machac of Waco, Rudy Machac of Axtell and Johnny Machac of Hubbard; three sisters, Albina Marshall of Elm Mott, Helen Mogle of New Madison, Ohio and Hattie McNutt of Greenville, Ohio; and seven grandchildren. Pallbearers were Bobby Machac, Heath Mosley, David Filer, Scott Woodall, Jerry Chupik and Raymond Pavelka, Jr. The West News, West, Texas, Volume 100, No. 1, Edition 1, Thursday, January 4, 1990, page 2.
