Raymond L. Machac, age 76 of West, passed away Friday, July 21, 2000 in Waco. Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Cemetery near West, with the Rev. Isidore Rozycki officiating. Military honors were provided by V.F.W. Post No. 4819. Mr. Machac was born August 1, 1923 in Waco, the son of John and Frances Machac. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He married Hattie Schroeder in May of 1945 in Florida. She preceded him in death on October 24, 1963. Raymond worked for the General Tire and Rubber Company in Waco for over 20 years until he retired in 1971. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. He is also preceded in death by a grandson, Danny Machac, Jr., who died on May 15, 1994. He is survived by one son, Danny Machac of West; one daughter, Doris Mosley and her husband, Joe of Elm Mott; two brothers, Rudy Machac of Axtell and Johnny Machac of Malone; three sisters, Albina Marshall and Hattie McNutt, both of Elm Mott and Helen Mogle of New Madison, Ohio; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
