Last Rites Held For Mrs. Filer, West Resident Mrs. Joe C. (Lillian) Filer, 50, of Route 1, West, died at 11:30 a.m. Sunday in a Waco hospital. Requiem mass was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church of the Assumption at West, with Rev. Edward Dokupil as celebrant. Burial was in St. Martin’s Cemetery at Tours. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Filer was born in Hill County and had lived near West all her life. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of the Assumption. Survivors are her husband, Joe C. Filer; two sons, Larry Joe Filer and David Charles Filer, both of Route 1, West; her mother, Mrs. Frances Machac of Leroy; four brothers, Henry Machac and Rudolph Machac, both of Waco, Raymond Machac of West and Johnny Machac of Hubbard; three sisters, Mrs. Bob (Hattie) McNutt of Greenville, Ohio, Mrs. Robert (Helen) Mogle of New Madison, Ohio, and Mrs. Troy (Albina) Marshall of Elm Mott. Pallbearers were Frank Lucien, Robert Lucien, Henry Machac, Jr., Joe Beseda, Joe Mosley, and Freddie Machac.
