Last Rites Held For Mrs. Filer, West Resident Mrs. Joe C. (Lillian) Filer, 50, of Route 1, West, died at 11:30 a.m. Sunday in a Waco hospital. Requiem mass was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church of the Assumption at West, with Rev. Edward Dokupil as celebrant. Burial was in St. Martin’s Cemetery at Tours. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Filer was born in Hill County and had lived near West all her life. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of the Assumption. Survivors are her husband, Joe C. Filer; two sons, Larry Joe Filer and David Charles Filer, both of Route 1, West; her mother, Mrs. Frances Machac of Leroy; four brothers, Henry Machac and Rudolph Machac, both of Waco, Raymond Machac of West and Johnny Machac of Hubbard; three sisters, Mrs. Bob (Hattie) McNutt of Greenville, Ohio, Mrs. Robert (Helen) Mogle of New Madison, Ohio, and Mrs. Troy (Albina) Marshall of Elm Mott.
