Bio

Mrs. F. Lichnovsky Passes Away After Six-Year Illness A resident of West since 1907 and the wife of a prominent West grocer, Mrs. Frank Lichnovsky passed away at home early Monday morning. She was 64 years of age at the time of her death. For the past several years, Mrs. Lichnovsky had been suffering from a condition brought on when she broke an ankle some 6 years ago in a home accident. She had been confined to a wheel chair for the past year. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. E.J. Polcak at the residence at 8:45 a.m. and at the Church of the Assumption at 9 a.m. Wednesday. Rosary was recited Tuesday evening at Aderhold Chapel. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mrs. Lichnovsky was born in Ellinger on October 4, 1888, one of six children of Mr. and Mrs. Vaclav Hutyra. One brother, John V. Hutyra preceded Mrs. Lichnovsky in death. She came to West in 1907 and was married to Mr. Lichnovsky in the local Catholic Church on April 28, 1914. She assisted her husband in the operation of the business for some 20 years before her incapacitation. Mrs. Lichnovsky was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, the KJZT, and the Altar Society. Survivors are her husband; a son, Harry Lichnovsky of West; two brothers, Charles Hutyra of Hillsboro and Louis Hutyra of Axtell; two sisters, Mrs. Dominic Kramer of West, and Mrs. Sophie Opeila, both of West, and four grandchildren.
