Joseph M. Kubacak, age 78, of Rt. 1 passed away November 10, 1994 in a Waco hospital. Rosary was recited last Saturday in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated last Saturday in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Melvin Dornak as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mr. Kubacak was born February 21, 1916 in West and had lived in the West area all of his life. He was a retired self-employed carpenter and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. Mr. Kubacak married Annie Schuetz on November 23, 1938 in West. Survivors include his wife, Annie of Rt. 1, West; one son, Larry Joe Kubacak of Rt. 1, West; one daughter, Mrs. Marvin (Nona Jean) Gerik of Rt. 1, West; two sisters, Annie Smerek and Frances Nors, both of West; 6 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers were Christopher Gerik, David Gerik, Jered Rochester, Billy Bettge, Phillip Webre and Marvin Gerik, Jr. Kotch Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
