Bio
Annie Kubacak, 97, of West passed away Saturday, April 27, 2013, in Bellmead. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2013, at Aderhold Funeral Home in West. Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2013, at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Boniface Onjefu officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Annie was born October 23, 1915, in Tours to August John and Lizzie (Kruse) Schuetz. For many years she was the school cafeteria cook at Abbott and also worked at the Turkey Shop in Abbott. On November 23, 1938, she married Joseph Matis Kubacak. He preceded her in death on November 10, 1994. Annie enjoyed taking walks, crocheting, gardening, growing flowers, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. May's Catholic Church of the Assumption and the Senior Citizens Center in West. Also preceding her in death were her parents and a daughter, Nona Jean Kubacak Gerik on July 1, 1999. Survivors include her son, Larry Joe Kubacak of West; son-in-law, Marvin Gerik, Sr. of West; six grandchildren, Marvin Gerik, Jr., Amanda Bettge and Billy Bettge, Jeanne Anderson and husband, Bryan, Chris Gerik, David Gerik and wife, Jennifer, and Cathy Gerik Jeffers and husband, Buddy, all of West; 11 great-grandchildren, Kevin Bettge, Sharla Salazar and husband, Abel, Tyler Bettge, Denton Gerik, Jessica Gerik, Daniel Gerik, Maddison Gerik, Cole Anderson, Kaden Anderson, Kaci Jeffers, and Amanda Huerta; and three great-great-grandchildren, Gabbie, Junior, and Graciella. Active pallbearers will be Kevin Bettge, Tyler Bettge, Cole Anderson, Denton Gerik, Daniel Gerik, Abel Salazar, Kaden Anderson, and Jared Rochester.
