Mrs. Jim (Francxes) Kocian, 95, of West, died Saturday evening, January 30, 1988 in a West hospital. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday, February 1, in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel in West. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 2, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, West, with Msgr. George Doskocil as Celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, West. Mrs. Kocian was born Sept. 26, 1892, in Fayette County. She lived in Penelope most of her life. She lived in West since 1961. She was married to Jim Kocian, who preceded her in death Nov. 18, 1967 and a daughter, Mrs. Delma Hutyra. Survivors include a son, Charlie Kocian of Dallas; three daughters, Mrs. Jim (Regina) Holacka and Mrs. Christine Vanek, both of West, and Mrs. Andrew (Frances) Beseda of Penelope; two brothers, Frank Pavlas and Victor Pavlas, Sr., both of Abbott; a sister, Mrs. Molly Vybiral of Abbott; 14 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers, Jimmie Holacka, Chris Kazda, Allen Vanek, Lonnie Beseda, James Kocian and Don Holacka. Honorary pallbearers: Jerry Kazda, Jimmie Kocian, Gary Beseda, Robert Beseda, Steve Vanek, John Kocian, Tom Subject, Milton Spaniel and Frankie Cede Baca.
