Mrs. Frances Pavlas, Pioneer Resident, Died in Waco Wed. Mrs. France3s Pavlas, 73, pioneer resident of this community, passed away at the Providence Hospital in Waco at 6:50 o'clock Wednesday evening after being seriously ill for over five weeks. The rosary will be said for Mrs. Pavlas at the home of her son, John Pavlas, in Abbott at 9:00 o'clock Friday night. Funeral services will be held from the residence at 9:00 o'clock and at the Church of the Assumption in West at 10:00 o'clock Saturday morning with the Rev. E.J. Polcak officiating. Interment will be at the Catholic Cemetery. Surviving are her eight sons, John Pavlas of Abbott, Felix Pavlas of Corpus Christi, Anton Pavlas of West, Joe Pavlas of Taylor, Frank Pavlas of Abbott, Albin Pavlas of West, Victor Pavlas of Abbott, and T/Sgt. Emmerick Pavlas of Lake Charles, La., her three daughters, Mrs. Frances Kocian of Penelope, Mrs. Mollie, and Mrs. Lucy Vybiral of Abbott; and 31 grandchildren. A few months after her birth on January 1, 1871, in Czechoslovakia, Mrs. Pavlas was taken to this country by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Anton Odlozelik. After living in Fayette County for a number of years, she moved to this community.
