Bio

1930 - 2009 Virl LaMar Fullmer, dear husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away February 18, 2009 in his home in American Fork, Utah. Virl was born June 26, 1930 in Springville, Utah to Ralph and Emma Katrina Nelson Fullmer, the 10th child of 15. He married Julia Ann Street April 10, 1954 and sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 24, 1964. Virl served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in Dec 1953. He worked for 40 years at Geneva Steel. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and never missed an opportunity to take the family camping. He was an active member of the LDS Church where he served in many callings. Virl loved to bowl his entire life and more recently on his Nintendo Wii. He was passionate about his wife, children, his grand and great grand children and the Utah Jazz. Virl and his "Heart of Gold" will be greatly missed. Survived by his wife, Julia, daughter Judy (Don) Peterson, sons LaMar Fullmer and Larry (Thelma) Fullmer, sisters Monta, Lena, Loraine and Jeannine, brothers Ralph and Mark, 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Eileen, brothers Clay and Lawrence and sisters Maxine, Erma, Faye, Shirley, Donna and Connie. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Monday, February 23, 2009 in the American Fork 11^th Ward, 240 S Center. Visitations will be Sunday evening from 6 to 8 pm at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 E 100 N, American Fork and Monday at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 am. Interment in the American Fork Cemetery.
