Pavelka, 87, of 212 N. Cedar Ave. died Wednesday, September 4th at the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings. Funeral services were held Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Cecilia's Catholic Church with Rev. Ivan Vap officiating. Burial was in St. Martin's Cemetery west of Deweese. Mr. Pavelka was born January 30, 1898, in Clay County. He attended school in the Spring Ranch Township and farmed in the Spring Ranch area until 1966 when he moved to Hastings. He was employed as a maintenance man for Sherman Services until he retired in 1983. He is survived by his wife, Agnes of Hastings; one son, Alvin of Fairfield; six grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
