The Edgar Sun (Edgar NE) Thu - Sep 4, 1958- Page 1 Longtime Deweese Resident Dies At Hastings Frank Pavelka, a farmer in the Deweese community for many years, died Wednesday in Hastings after an extended illness. He was born 74 years ago in Czechoslovakia and came to Nebraska when he was a small child. Survivors are his brothers and sister, John, Joseph, Antone and William Pavelka of the Deweese community and Mrs. Frank Ourada of Overton. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 8 o'clock Thursday evening in St. Martin's Church west of Deweese where Mass will be said at 9 o'clock Friday morning with Father Anthony Trausch as officiant. Pavelka was born in Stepanovice, Moravia, April 24, 1884, and passed away in Hastings at the age of 74 years, 4 months and 10 days. He came to America at the age of six months with his parents and they settled near Spring Ranch where he lived most of his life. He leaves to mourn his death, four brothers and one sister. Another sister died in 1953.
