Services held Monday for Mrs. Thomas Mazour Funeral Services were held for Mrs. Thomas Mazour, Monday morning at 9:00 o'clock at Sacred Heart Church in Lawrence, Nebr. The Rev. S. J. Wagner offered the Requiem High Mass and officiated at the internment services at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Pallbearers were six nephews: Alvin Pavelka, Ernest Pavelka, Joe Pavelka Jr. William Mazour, George Nejezchleb and Jerome Karmazin. Mary Pavelka Mazour, daughter of Severin and Mary Pavelka was born on June 22, 1900 at Spring Ranch, Nebraska and died at her home in Lawrence on May 8, 1953 at the age of 52 years, 10 months and 16 days. She was united in the bonds of matrimony to Thomas S. Mazour on November 18, 1919 by Father Hancek at St. Martin's Church, Loucky. Mr. and Mrs. Mazour located on a farm 2 1/2 miles north of Lawrence where they lived until about 4 years ago when they moved to their present home in Lawrence. The deceased had been in failing health for the past year suffering from cancer of the lungs. The community was stunned and deeply grieved when they learned the nature and seriousness of her illness, only a few days before her death as up to that time Mr. Mazour and the doctor were the only ones who knew that Mrs. Mazour's days among her loved ones were numbered. When measured by the span of years her life may seem short and death untimely, but measured by what life yielded and by what she contributed to its enrichment hers was a full life. She was a faithful member of the Catholic church and active in promoting its welfare. She was a model wife, a good, faithful, loyal, Christian mother who was happiest when her loved were happy. Her friends are many and her death brings sadness to all. The deceased is survived by her husband, Thomas; four daughters; Mrs. Richard Skalka of Deweese, Mrs. Anthony Kotinek of Lawrence, Mrs. Francis Theis of Hastings and Miss Marilyn Mazour at home; and one son, Ervin of Lawrence; eleven grandchildren also mourn her loss. She has one sister Mrs. Francis Ourada of Overton; five brothers, John, Joe, William and Anton of Glenvil and Frank of Hastings. Attending the funeral were relatives and friends from Glenvil, Fairfield, and Deweese, and those from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ourada, George Ourada, Albert Ourada of Overton; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Ourada of Burwell, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Hubl of Burwell; Mr. and Mrs. James Theis of Kenesaw; Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Marion of Hastings; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Strohmeyer of Lexington; Mr. and Mrs. Philip Brysnahan and Hattie Theis of Lincoln.
