The Kearney Daily News (Kearney, NE), Thursday, April 15, 1920; pg. 1 DOINGS IN COUNTY COURT April 6th. Marriage license issued to Antone (sic) Pavelka of Spring Ranche (sic) and Emily Gruntored (sic) of Overton, Nebraska. ∼ The Elmcreek Beacon (Elm Creek, NE), Friday, April 16, 1920; pg. 4 A wedding occurred at the church of the Immaculate Conception Tuesday morning, Rev. Father Sullivan uniting in marriage Anton Ravelka (sic) of Spring Ranch and Miss Emily Gruntorad of Overton. The couple, with James and Marie Gruntorad, who witnessed the ceremony, took the train for Kearney where they spent the day, returning to Overton for a few days visit before going to their home at Spring Ranch. ∼ Lawrence Locomotive (Lawrence, NE), Thursday, December 10, 1992; pg. 8 EMILY PAVELKA PASSES AWAY Funeral services were held Saturday, December 5, 1992 for a former Spring Ranch resident Emily Christina Pavelka who passed away Wednesday, December 2, 1992 in Omaha. The Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated by Father Thomas Au at Our Lady of Assumption Church in Deweese, Ne. at 10:30. Ed Pavelka was acolyte, Ron Pavelka as Lector, Marian Souchek lead the congregational singing with Sandy Pavelka playing the organ. Fall bearers were grandsons: Don Pavelka, Ron Pavelka, Gary Hesman and Steve Hesman. Nephews - Adrian Gruntarod and Alvin Pavelka. Burial was in St. Martin's, Loucky cemetery (sic) west of Deweese. Mrs. Pavelka was born November 1, 1895 at Abie, Ne. to Henry and Katie (Ourada) Gruntarod. She moved with her parents to Overton in 1915. On April 13, 1920 she married Anton Pavelka at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Elm Creek. To this union four children were born. They farmed near Spring Ranch until Anton's death in 1963. Later she moved to Omaha where she lived until her death. She was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church and its Altar Society. Emily was preceded in death by her husband Anton, one son Albert and a daughter Agnes (Delmar) Hesman. Survivors are two sons Dr. Donald Pavelka and his wife of Omaha, Edwin Pavelka of Omaha, daughter-in-law Margaret Pavelka of Lincoln, son-in-law Delmar Hesman of Blue Hill; two sisters Georgia Codr of Prague, Ne. and Josie Codr of Linwood, Ne.; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
