Historical Notes on Dubois County Green A. Kemp was born Mar 30, 1822 and died July 5, 1913. His wife Endemild was born April 2, 1828 and died July 10, 1912. Both are buried in Mt. Vernon cemetery. Green A. Kemp was the son of William Kemp. He lived south of Mt. Zion's church. His wife was Endemild P. Meyers, a daughter of James Meyers of Dubois County. They were married in 1848. He was a leading citizen, politician, and farmer. He was a member of the Methodist church at Mr. Zion. He built the first large frame house in the Kemp Settlement and one of the finest in the southern part of Dubois County. His children were as follows: Nancy, Sarah A., Endemild, Henry Sabin, William F., Mary Ann, Noble J., Ida B., Laura S., Alice J., and Stella Mae Kemp. Green A. Kemp as a leader in his community and a leader in Dubois County democrat. Today his son, Noble J. Kemp is living on a part of the old farm
