Following info was provided by F.A.G. Contributor.... ....Dan Kemp (#47519405): 1. "David contracted consumption during his service in the Civil War and tried for years afterwards to obtain a cure. He applied for a pension but never was granted one. He traveled to Pueblo, Colorado in 1876 seeking a healthier climate and died there on October 27, 1876. His wife, Mary Ann, discovered that she too had contracted the disease and traveled to San Marcos Texas hoping the dry climate would cure her. Sadly she died there on May 22, 1883, she was 39 years old. Their children were raised apart from each other. George A. Kemp lived with his Uncle John Miles Kemp and later with his Uncle Benjamin F. Kemp in Kansas. Eddine Victoria was raised by her Aunt Phoebe Shrode." 2. "David and Benjamin were both under age when they enlisted. Benjamin enlisted in September of 1861, one month short of his 16th birthday. David enlisted in August of 1861, three months short of his 15th birthday. Benjamin was 15 years old and David was 14 years old when they enlisted. Boy soldiers." THANKS DAN ! .
