Lawrence Locomotive (Lawrence, NE), Thursday, December 6, 1934; pg. 1 Final Rites Held For Mrs. Jacob Petr Funeral services were held at the Deweese Catholic church, Friday morning of Iast week for Mrs. Jacob Petr, Sr., who phased away at her home in Deweese on Wednesday morning. Burial was made in the Deweese cemetery in charge of Rev. Adrian Klepac the pastor who had also officiated at the requiem mass. Pallbearers were six grandsons of the deceased, Joe, Tom, Henry, George and Emil Drudik and Edward Sykora. Mrs. Petr was born in Chechoslovakia (sic) on March 20, 1851 and had reached the age of 83 years, 8 months and 8 days. Married in that country she came to Nebraska with her husband and children about fifty years ago and her home was on farms in Clay and Nuckolls counties until retirement to the home in Deweese about eighteen years ago. Surviving are the husband, also past eighty years of age, and five children. The sons are Frank, Jacob, Jr., and John of Lawrence and daughters are Mrs Wm. Sykora of Spring Ranch and Mrs. Frank Drudik of Deweese. Mrs. Petr had been in failing health for the past two years or more and had been bed-fast for weeks, after being injured in a fall.
