Nuckolls County Herald (Nelson, NE), Friday, May 29, 1908; pg. 4 Liberty - Victor. Joe Kuchera (sic) and Miss Edith Secora (sic) were married last Tuesday in Fairfield. They left that evening for Crte (sic) to visit relatives. We extend to them our hearty congratulations. ======================= The Lawrence Locomotive (Lawrence, NE), Thursday, October 19, 1944; pg. 1 DEATH CLAIMS JOS. KUCERA Funeral services were held on Monday morning for Joseph G. Kucera at Assumption Church in Denver. The Very Rev. F.J. Kopecky sang the Requiem High Mass and conducted committal services at Assumption cemetery (sic). Although in poor health for the past five years, death was not expected until her became suddenly ill and died Saturday night. Mr. Kucera was born in Roderine, Czechoslovakia, Oct. 14, 1886 an (sic) died in Deweese, Oct. 14, 1944. Having reached the age of 58 years, 6 mos. and 25 days. He came to America when about six months old and spent all of his life on a farm 5 miles east of Lawrence, except the past 2 1/2 years when unable to continue farming he and Mrs. Kucera retired in Deweese. He was married on May 19th, 1908 to Miss Sylvia Sekora in the Catholic church in Fairfield. To this union two children were born George and Dorothy. Besides his wife and children, he leaves to mourn his loss, his other (sic) who is now making her home with her son, Tom, and six brothers: Frank of Scappose, Ore. John Leonard, Procrop, William and Tom all of the Deweese community, and one sister, Mrs. Frank Dobesh of Hastings. Pallbearers were: Julius Karmazin, Godfrey Herbek, Frank Karmazin, Lester Hlavac, Frank Lukasek and Joe Petr.
