Mass of the Christian Burial for Janie J. Patak will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Johns Catholic Church with Rev. Fred Caldwell as celebrant. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Keever Chapel. Interment will be in St. Josephs Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary. Serving as pallbearers will be Clint Santos, Gary Gilmore, Louis Escobar, Troy Patak, Paul Nekuza and Raymond Patak. Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Patak, Kayla Cervantes, Robin Cervantes, Lisa Gilmore and Rebecca Escobar. Memorials may be made to St. John Schools. Mrs. Patak, 72, died Wednesday, April 6, 2005, at the IOOF Nursing Home in Ennis. She was born May 28, 1932 in Ennis, the daughter of Frank and Janie Lanicek Prachyl. She was reared in Ennis where she graduated from St. John High School in 1949. On June 2, 1951 she was married to Frank W. Patak, Jr. After their marriage they lived in Ennis where she was employed by Ennis Business Forms. She retired in 1995 after 33 years of service. She was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church, the KJZT, KJT and the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion. She is survived by her husband, Frank, of Ennis; a son and his wife, Michael and Stephanie Patak of Ennis; 2 daughters and their husbands, Theresa and Joe Strunc, Nancy and Jerry Santos all of Ennis; 2 brothers, George Prachyl and Lewis Prachyl both of Ennis; 4 sisters, Adele Meyers of Maryland, Emilie Valke, Wilma Zhanel and Georgie Nekuza all of Ennis; 6 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
