The Lawrence Locomotive (Lawrence, NE), Thursday, August 14, 1930; pg. 1 Obituary Mrs. Mary Karmazin was born in Moravia on August 15, 1836, and died at Deweese, Nebraska, August 5, 1930, aged 93 years, 11 months and 20 days. Death came suddenly from the infirmities incident to old age with very little prior illness. The deceased was married 73 years ago in Moravia to Frank Karmazin and with him and the children emigrated to United States in 1883. They made their home on a farm in Nuckolls county (sic) until 26 years ago when she with Mr. Karmazin retired to a home in Lawrence. After eight years residence in Lawrence they moved to Deweese which remained her home until death. The husband passed away at Deweese, June 11, 1926, one son died at the age of seven years in Moravia, a daughter Mrs. Martin Hlavac passed away 28 years ago and another son Leo died in September, 1926. Surviving children are Mrs. Mary Kucera, Thos. Karmazin and Frank Karmazin all of Deweese and Mrs. Henry Herbeck (sic) of Lawrence. Thirty-nine grandchildren and eighty great-grandchildren also mourn her passing. Funeral services were held at the Catholic church in Deweese last Friday morning conducted by the pastor, Rev. Father Cadek . Burial was made in the Catholic cemetery at Deweese.
