Magdelena (Lena) Glatter, age 94 of West, passed away Wednesday afternoon, May 31, 2000 at West Rest Haven. A rosary was recited 7:30 p.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West with the Rev. Isidore Rozycki as celebrant. Burial followed at St. Martin's Cemetery near Tours. Mrs. Glatter was born April 10, 1906 in Rowena, the daughter of August and Rose Hoelscher. She married Mike J. Glatter on October 30, 1923 in Tours. He preceded her in death on July 21, 1980. She was a homemaker and housewife. Lena enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, Polka music and dancing. She was a member of K.J.Z.T. in Tours and St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. She is also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters, one son, Michael Glatter Jr., two grandchildren and one great grandchild. She is survived by one son, Anton A. Glatter and his wife Doris of Waco; three daughters, Irene Muller of Elm Mott, Evelyn Gauer and her husband Herman of West and Leona Weinberger and her husband Raymond of West; three sisters, Alma Harris of Waco; Dora Moeller of Westphalia and May Cypert of Houston, nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers were Gerald Glatter, Jimmie Ray Weinberger; David Weinberger, Steve Weinberger, Boonie Witt and Ben West. Honorary pallbearers were Henry Glatter, Michael Weinberger, Bobby Hurtt, Harry Lee Svacek, Jr., Leander Berger, John Weinberger, Kerwin Rorie, Todd Rorie and Derek Hurtt. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Martin's Catholic Church, St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption or West Ambulance Association.
