Eustis F. Bartosh, Stricken Suddenly At Home, Dies Tues. Eustis Frank Bartosh, 59-year-old life-time resident of the West Community, was stricken suddenly with a heart attack on the porch of his home at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday and died minutes later. Mr. Bartosh had been in good health up to the time of his death. He had chopped cotton during the morning and came home to rest during the hot midday hours. At 3 p.m. he returned to the field for a few hours of work and was awaiting supper on the porch of his home whem the fatal stroke came. Mr. Bartosh was born the son of Joseph and Jenovefa Bartosh in West on January 27, 1895, and lived in and around West his entire life. As a youth he attended Leggott and St. Mary's schools and made farming his life's work. For the past six years he lived in West proper, but continued in farm work and helped at John A. Sulak and Sons Gin during the fall cotton season. He was a member of the SPJST Lodge. Rev. F. J. Kostohryz conducted funeral services at Czech-Moravian Brothren Church Thursday at 9:30 a.m. The body lay in state at the church an hour previous to the services. Interment was in CMB Cemetery. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Frances Bartosh; three sons, Ernest of Ft. Worth, Albin of West and Jerry of Dallas; three daughters, Mrs. Frances Tobola of West, Mrs. Agnes Prasifka of Dallas and Mrs. Mary Jane Chudej of Waco; two brothers, Ben Bartosh of Corpus Christi and Joe Bartosh of Penelope; four sisters, Mrs. Louis Dudik of West, Mrs. Emil Dvorsky of Waco, Mrs. Billie Tacket of Dallas and Mrs. Albert Vanzura of Dallas; thirteen grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Pallbearers were Robert Cervenka, Emil Popp, J. C. Mosley, Ben Sulak, Toby Sulak and Robert Blaha. The West News, West, Texas, Vol 64, No 12, Ed 1 Friday, July 30, 1954 Pg 1
