Bio

Louise Snokhous, age 61, of West, passed away early Friday morning, October 3, 2003 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. A rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel by Janice Kaluza. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with the Rev. Isidore Rozycki as celebrant. Burial followe3d at St. Mary's Cemetery. Mrs. Snokhous was born on December 11, 1941 in West, the daughter of Louis and Clara (Entrop) Jares. She graduated from West High School in 1961. On July 21, 1962 she married the love of her life, Jimmy Rudolph Snokhous. He preceded her in death on June 21, 1994. Until her recent illness, she worked as a sales clerk at West Hardware for nine years. She also had worked as a seamstress for both Lorch Manufacturing and Wolf Manufacturing in West. Louise loved to read, spend time in the outdoors working in her yard and taking walks. She was a member of the V.F.W. Post No. 4819 Ladies Auxiliary in West and currently served as Treasurer. She was also a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. Survivors include three sons, Doug Snokhous and wife Donna, Robert Snokhous and wife Alison, all of West; and Barry Snokhous of Kadena Air Force Base in Okinawa, Japan; a daughter, Karen Hoelscher and husband Keith of West; a brother, Tommy Jares and wife Patricia of Iowa Park, TX; a sister, Estelle Aycock and husband John of Arlington; eight grandchildren, Lauren Snokhous, Laken Snokhous, McKenzie Ryan, Marqee Snokhous, Robert Snokhous, Jr., Kelsey Hoelscher, Kyndall Hoelscher and Jimmy T. Snokhous, and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Active pallbearers were Pat Halamik, Joey Dulock, Bernard Gerik, Buck Stanislav, Melvin Jares and Pat Vonasek. Honorary pallbearers will be the V.F.W. Post No. 4819 Ladies Auxiliary. Aderhold Funeral Home in West was in charge of arrangements. The West News, West, Texas, Thursday, October 9, 2003
