Obituary: Services Today, Nov. 10 For Dodge Businessman Jerry Stecher, 60 - Funeral services for businessman Jerry E. Stecher, 60, will be held this Thursday Nov. 9th at 9:30 a.m. at the Humlicek Funeral and 10:00 a.m. Mass at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Rev. Hugh Schwartz will officiate. In between hospital stays, he was active in his business. Jerry died Monday in the Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, after a lengthy illness. Jerry Emil Stecher was born on April 25, 1917 to Louis and Elizabeth (Kment) Stecher. He attended Dodge school and is a Veteran of World War II. He served in the European Theatre from 1942 to 1945. He married Jennie Sup, June 2, 1942 at Pierce. Since their marriage, they have resided in Dodge and have operated and owned Dodge Oil Company. He was a member of the Dodge Chamber of Commerce, American Legion Post and Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post in Dodge. He is survived by his wife Jennie, 2 sons, Randall and Curtis, Dodge, one daughter, Mrs. Joe (Connie) Carmody, Omaha; 4 granddaughters, Theresa Carmody, Marsha and Kim Stecher and Cari Jo Stecher; 1 brother, Raymond, Renton, Wash.; 4 half brothers, Albert Stecher, Omaha; Joe Stecher, Fremont; Loren Votruba, Clarkson, and Frank Votruba, Texas, one half-sister, Mrs. Rosalie Karnik, Sidney, Nebr. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Adolph, a half brother Leonard Stecher and half sister, Josie Kovarik. Interment will be in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Larry Votruba, James Klein, Louis Stecher, William Minarik, David Uher, Russell Rabeler. Visitation was Wednesday evening.
