Mrs. Ben (Josephine) Uptmor, age 90, of West, passed away December 30, 1994, at West Community Hospital. A rosary was recited January 2, 1995, at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours by Rev. Isidore Rozycki. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated January 2, 1995, at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours with Rev. Isidore Rozycki as Celebrant. Burial followed in St. Martin Cemetery. Mrs. Uptmor was born March 19, 1904, in Tours. She was the daughter of Theodore and Elizabeth Schroeder. She married Ben Andrew Uptmor on March 4, 1924 in Tours. He preceded her in death on November 18, 1977. They lived in the Tours area all their lives. She was a housewife, homemaker, farmer and rancher. She was a lifetime member of St. Martin's Catholic Church of Tours and also a lifetime member of St. Elizabeth Altar Society. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, one sister and four brothers. She is survived by three sons, Benjamin F. Uptmor, Kenneth M. Uptmor and Gregory Uptmor, all of Tours; three daughters, Angeline Sottman of New Braunfels, Marian Glass of Austin, and Alma Enlow of Woodway; one sister, Sister Henrietta Schroeder of San Antonio; sixteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were David Land, Larry Land, Brian Enlow, Jerry Patterson, Chris Uptmor and Freddie Uptmor. Aderhold Funeral Home in West was in charge of arrangements.
