Bio

Rachel Allen was a daughter of Samuel and Mary (Norville) Allen. Rachel came from a large family, having several brothers and sisters. She was born and grew up in Missouri. She married John Barker Rutledge on Sept 22, 1870 in McDonough Co. Illinois. Many of John's family lived in that region. John, Rachel and John's parents moved to Missouri from Fulton and McDonough Co, Illinois prior to 1880. Rachel passed away at age 87.
