Bio

Nathan Blackburn "Jake" Curlee came to Texas at the age of 16 and settled in Crandall, Texas. He married Cyntha Alice "Al" Estep on Dec. 8, 1894, and in 1917, they moved to Jackson County and settled on a farm near what is now the Matilda Booster Station, where the family lived for a number of years. Mr. Curlee was an honest, upright, and industrious man, and while he possessed a quiet disposition, he made a large number of warm friends during his residence in Jackson County. After retiring from active farm life, he devoted a large part of his time to gardening and, always interested in agriculture, he was successful to a marked degree. His beloved wife passed away in 1918, and for the last few years of his life, he lived with his daughter, Vera Green, in Edna, Texas. Nathan was my Grandfather.
