Vera Green Edna – Vera Curlee Green, 89, longtime resident of Edna, died at 2:15 a. m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 1991, in a local hospital after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be at 10 a. m. Thursday at the Jackson County Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Joe Webb officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens of Edna Cemetery. She was born Aug. 13, 1901, in Crandall, to the late Nathan B. and Alice Eastep Curlee. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She had resided in Edna for the past 65 years. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Clyde McDonald of Edna; a sister, Mrs. Ethel Jordan of Edna; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Green on Jan. 25, 1975, and five brothers. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Honorary pallbearers will be Kelly and Kevin McDonald, Bobby, Shannon and Duane Moncrief, John Crabb, Tommy and Roy David Curlee, Woodrow Stewart, Paul Kovar, Calvin Cunningham, Warren Volkner and Luther Hamilton.
