Bio

Born Gertrude Hofbauer to Joseph and Louisa Wanke Hofbauer in Tours, Texas. She was the only girl in a family of six children. She entered Holy Angels Convent and professed her vows on July 2, 1926. She spent the biggest part of her life teaching children in Arkansas and Texas. She even taught me when I was a student at Sacred Heart School as a fourth grader. I married her nephew. She was a great teacher.
