Bio

Charlene, of Orange, passed away at the Harbor Hospice House. Born in Louisiana to Charles Johnson and Ozella (Hock) Johnson, she was a longtime resident of the Orange area, had previously lived in Starks, she attended MacArthur Heights Baptist Church in Pinehurst and she had worked as a nurses aide with the Jones Healthcare Center in Orange. She enjoyed gardening, taking care of plants and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Raymond Lee Thompson; her second husband, Carlos W. Cox; sister, Sheila Barrow and her brothers, Farley Johnson and Donald Johnson. Those who will most cherish her memory are her children, her daughter, Pat Marshall and her husband, George; her son, Kenneth W. Thompson and his wife Linda; her stepson, Gerald Thompson and his wife Ann; her sisters, Audrey Lowrie and Clydene Adams and her husband Ronald; her brothers, C. J. Johnson and his wife Marie and Dan C. Johnson and his wife Dorothy; ten grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren and she is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
