Bio

Earl W. Watson, 78, of York died Saturday (July 28, 1984) in Lincoln. He was born Oct. 3, 1905, to Shelvie and Etney (Hickman) Watson at Corydon, IN. He married Alice Jenkins on May 19, 1929, in York. He was a farmer for many years in the York area and had worked for the Scott-Hourigan Co. before retiring. He was a member of the East Avenue United Methodist Church in York. He is survived by his wife; one son, Maurice of Wooster, Ohio; two daughters, Mrs. Janice (Harvey) Pickrel of Benedict, and Mrs. Nadine (Dennis) Southwick of Concordia, Kan.; seven grandchildren, two great--grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Smith and Mrs. Audrey Nelson, both of York. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son and two brothers. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at York's East Avenue United Methodist Church. The Rev. Douglas Jones will officiate. Burial will be in York Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials should go to the church. Metz Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
