Jake Penner Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Friday, April 13, 1990, at the United Lutheran Church in Hampton. Interment was held in the Hampton Cemetery. OBITUARY: Jake Penner Jake Penner, the son of Ertman and Susanna (Blinn) Penner, was born in Hamilton County, on March 1, 1906, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on April 11, 1990, at the age of 84 years, 1 month, and 10 days. He lived in Hamilton County all his life, and received his education at District #2. He farmed nearly all his life. On February 24, 1940, he was united in marriage to Vernita Miller at Grand Island. They spent their first married years on a farm south of Hampton. In 1948, they moved to a farm north of Hampton, and in 1962, they moved to a farm south of Hampton. In 1963, they moved into Hampton, where he worked a few years as a carpenter and then retired. Jake was a member of the Hampton United Lutheran Church. He enjoyed gardening, lawn work, his grandchildren, and in his earlier years he enjoyed fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Ed; 4 sisters, Suzy Goertzen, Anna Dick, Elizabeth Penner, and Kathryn Janzen. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Vernita of Hampton; 2 sons, Ron and his wife Sharon of Hampton and Ed and his wife Darlene of Marquette; 2 daughters, Judy Hitzemann and her husband LaVelle of Hampton and Judy Hubbard and her husband Don of Wagner, South Dakota; 2 sisters, Helen George of Sutton and Marie Dick of Aurora; 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
