Ronald Penner, age 79, of Hampton, passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at the Hearthstone in York. Ronald Dean Penner, the son of Jake and Vernita (Miller) Penner was born at Aurora, Nebraska on January 2, 1942 and passed away at York, Nebraska on November 11, 2021 at the age of 79. Ron grew up around Hampton. He started school at a country school south of Hampton and graduated from Hampton High School in 1959. On August 12, 1959, Ron married Sharon Lange at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Hampton. They had two children: Linda and Rick. Ron worked for the Coop for 42 years, when he retired at 62. Ron was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church and was a volunteer for many years with the Hampton Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ron was proceeded in death by his parents and brother, Edward Penner. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Sharon of Hampton; two children, Linda (Tony) Hoegh of Hampton and Rick (Cara) Penner of Hampton; 7 grandchildren, Lana (Adam) Nelson of Minneapolis, MN, Maggie Wilhelmy of Minneapolis, MN, Shane (Meghan) Penner of Lincoln and Megan (Nick) Faller of Hampton and 4 great-grandchildren, Uriah and Dedrick Nelson and Liam and Brysen Faller and two more on the way. He is also survived by two sisters, Judy (LaVelle) Hitzmann of Hampton and Joan (Don) Hubbard of Wagner, SD and many other relatives and friends.
