Edward Lee Penner, the son of Jake and Vernita (Miller) Penner, was born in Aurora, Nebraska on February 24, 1948 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on March 13, 2007, at the age of 59. He graduated from Hampton High School. Edward was in the National Guard from 1977 to 1983. On September 6, 1980, he was united in marriage to Darlene (Kliewer) Graves at Aurora. Ed was a truck driver for several years. He then went on to be a Federal Grain Inspector from 1983 – 2001. He also worked for the Co-op Elevator and helped the Hoegh family with harvest. Recently, he drove a truck out of Chapman with Flatwater Material. Ed was a big Nascar fan of Dale Earnhardt. He liked to play cards, go fishing and raise pigs. Ed loved to go for coffee and visit with his buddies. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Ed was a current member of the Aurora United Methodist Church. He was baptized on December 18, 1949 and confirmed on April 7, 1963 at United Lutheran Church in Hampton. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Darlene Penner of Marquette; son, Quintin Penner of Lincoln; daughters, Jennifer Kaliff and fiancée Lane Leisinger and her daughter Taylor of Grand Island, Kathy (Bill) Richardson and children Bryce, Natasha and Braydon of Grand Island, and Erica Penner of Marquette; brother, Ron (Sharon) Penner of Hampton; two sisters, Joan (Don) Hubbard of Wagner, South Dakota and Judy (LaVelle) Hitzemann of Hampton; brothers-in-law, John (Sharon) Kliewer and Harry (Margie) Kliewer all of Stockham; sister-in-law, Marjorie (Bill) Strong of Giltner and many other family and friends.
