His father listed his birth as 21 Nov 1874 in his pension application and that fits with census records that list him as 5 years old in 1880. The birth dates that Joel Green put in his pension applications for his children are correct from comparing Census records for several years. Also, Jasper's brother Willard was born Dec 1878. Sally was well known for NOT telling her true age and she also changes Jaspers to suit her. 3rd son of Joel Green Huddleston and Tabitha Emeline Ledbetter. Brought to Collin County Texas about 1880. He married Sally Elizabeth Ausburn in Lamar County on 24th Dec 1896. Joel Royce Huddleston was his only child. He worked for the FW & Denver Railroad as a brakeman. He fell from train and it backed over him, cutting off both legs. He died from loss of blood and shock as a result of accident. From pension application of Joel Green Huddleston 9. Sallie swore in a court affidavit that he sometimes signed and went by John J, John J R, John Jasper and J R Huddleston and they were all one and the same, her husband and father of Joel Royce..
