Services for Syble Katherine "Kassie" Singleton, 94, Canton were held at 2 p.m., September 5 at Eubank Funeral Home Chapel, Canton with Bro. Don Childress officiating. Burial was in Haven of Memories, Canton. Mrs. Singleton passed away September 3, 2009 surrounded by her family in Tyler. She was born to Ollie Lee Chaney and Effie Daniel Chaney of Van Zandt County, on August 24, 1915. As a resident of Canton she was a long standing member of the First Baptist Church in Canton. She retired from the Malouf Manufacturing in 1977. She is preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; two sisters; husband of 48 years, Joe Frank Singleton; son-in-law, Herbert Simmons, Jr., and her brother-in-law, B.G. Singleton. Survivors include her children Emma Lee Simmons, Canton, Joann Deckard and husband, Homer, Ben Wheeler and Billy Dan Singleton, Canton; grandchildren, Dianne Rivera and husband, Joe, Brenda Martin and husband, Larry, Eddie Deckard and wife Thao, Tommy Simmons, Sr., and wife Pam, Mike Simmons and Frank Simmons and wife Brenda; 11 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Joe Rivera, Larry Martin, Eddie Deckard, Tommy Simmons, Sr., Mike Simmons and Frank Simmons. Honorary pallbearers were, Joey Watley, Tommy Simmons, Jr., Kevin Petrea, Colton Petrea, Joe Rivera, Jr., Zachery Burkley, Eddie Doss and Keith Cassell.
