Mr. Hottovy was born March 9, 1943, in David City to Alois J. and Marie (Pavel) Hottovy. He graduated from Assumption High School in Dwight in 1961. He served in the US Army National Guard. He married Ruth Ann Witzel Sept. 12, 1964, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Brainard. They farmed and raised registered Angus cattle south of Brainard. He was active in American Legion and town team baseball, as a player, coach and umpire. He was a member of Assumption Catholic Church. He leaves wife; sons, Bill Hottovy of Brainard and Dean Hottovy of Dwight; daughter and son-in-law, Krista and Paul Prochaska of Wahoo; parents of David City; and brothers and sisters--in-law, Al and Clete Hottovy of Omaha and Bern and Yvonne Hottovy of Lincoln. he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Michael Hottovy; and sister-in-law, Dottie Hottovy. Services were at 10 a.m. on Wednesday July 6, at Assumption Catholic Church in Dwight. Burial was at the parish cemetery, with military honors by Dwight American Legion Post 110. Arrangements by Wood Zabka Funeral Home, Seward.
