Mrs. Carrie Wichman Services Thursday Mrs. Carrie (Caroline) Wichman, 89, widow of the late August C. Wichman and a longtime resident of the Farwell community, died Sunday evening at her home in Farwell. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 in the Lutheran Church at Farwell, with the Rev. Chris Jeppeson of Ord, officiating. Burial will be in the Kelso Cemetery near Farwell. The Jacobsen Funeral Home in St. Paul is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Wichman was born Oct. 30, 1874, at Grand Island, a daughter of Hans and Margaret Obermiller. She attended school at Dist. 1 (Stolley Park) south of Grand Island before moving with her parents to Farwell, where she received the remainder of her education. She was married to August C. Wichman, Feb. 20, 1894. The couple moved to Farwell in 1904 when Mr. Wichman became president of the former Farwell State Bank. Mr. Wichman died in 1950. She was a member of the Lutheran Church at Farwell. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Sophia Zavitka and Miss Hattie Wichman, both of Farwell, and Mrs. Carrie Wells of Grand Island; four sons, Fred of Farwell, Wilbur of Fairbury, Sidney of Loup City and August B. Wichman of Grand Island; one sister, Mrs. Freida Rae of Washougal, Wash; one brother Harry Obermiller of Grand Island; 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
