Bio
Services for Artie Mae Richardson, 77, Athens are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday in the Baxter Baptist Church with the Rev. James Bond and Rusty Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in the Davis Cemetery under the direction of Foster & Brown Funeral Home, Athens. Mrs. Richardson died Tuesday in an Athens nursing home after a lengthy illness. She was born June 29, 1912 in Moody and lived in the Baxter Community all of her life. She was the wife of Claude Richardson, who preceded her in death in 1969. She was also preceded in death by three children, Mary Lou Richardson, Billy Richardson, and Zephie Burch. She was a member of Baxter Baptist Church and a housewife. Survivors include five sons, Clarence B., Bullard, Jimmy Glen, Ronnie, Larry and Truitt all of Baxter; six daughters, Fayrene Miller, Betty Neely, Bonnie Smith and Suella Clark, all of Baxter, and Frances Smith and Deannie Richardson, both of Athens; 27 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
