Bio
Jewell Erma Younse Richardson, age 99, of Abilene, TX., died Friday morning in the Hendricks Hospice Unit. Funeral Services will be held Monday at 10:00 am at North's Funeral Home Chapel, 242 Orange St. Abilene, Texas, with Janice Kahl and Doris Miller Officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park under the direction of North's Funeral Home. Jewell Richardson was born in Winn Parish, Louisiana, on September 7, 1905 the daughter of C.R and Valerie (Frazier) Younse. She married Howard Barbee Richardson on May 25, 1924 in Abilene, Texas. They farmed in Hamby, Texas until 1945 and were also members of the Hamby Methodist Church. They opened the Richardson Grocery Store and operated it until 1975. Howard Barbee Richardson preceded her in death on March 7, 1976. Jewell is survived by her 3 daughters and their husbands; Erma Lee and Burl Owens, Abilene, Texas; Alta Marie and Charles Hubbard, Euless, TX; and Norma and Darrell Stephens, Abernathy, TX. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren; Judy Hubbard Nordahl, Chandler, OK; Gary Owens, Plano, TX; Brenda Kay Cavell, Euless, TX; Becki Hargrove, Dimmitt, TX; Terry Lee Hubbard, Apex, NC; David D. Owens, Oklahoma City OK. 14 Great Grandchildren; KevenClark, Bradley Owens, Linc Lutrick, Heather Owens, Ladd Lutrick, Skyler Bradley, Travis Hubbard, Chad Hubbard, Brian Owens, Lacey Owens Roche, Kelly Cavell, Steven Shaw, Carrie Hubbard and Garon Lambert. She is also survived by 4 Great-Great Grandchildren, Hannah Owens, Micah Owens, Darby Lutrick, Kylie Bradley and 2 sisters, Cleo Parrott of Roscoe, TX and Theo Scott of Stamford, TX. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Jewell was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Richardson, her parents, 6 sisters, and 3 brothers. She was also preceded in death by 1 grandson Michael Burl Owens, and 2 great grandsons, Patrick Glen Shaw and Lynn Sterling Nordahl. Family visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00pm until 6:00pm at North's Funeral Home 242 Orange St. Abilene, Texas.
