BARNISE YOUNCE Roscoe - Barnise Orville Younse, 62, of Austin and formerly of Roscoe, died at 10:40 a.m. Saturday in Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, after a lengthy illness. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church in Roscoe, Texas, with the Rev. Robert Sloane, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Roscoe Cemetery under direction of McCoy Funeral Home. Born Oct. 7, 1915 in Princeton, Mr. Younse was a retired lieutenant colonel in the Air Force. He married Mary Lumpkin on Aug. 23, 1946 in Denton. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He attended Roscoe and Sweetwater, Texas schools and North Texas State University in Denton. Survivors include his wife of Austin; two sons, Danny of Denton and Jimmy L. of San Antonio; a daughter, Linda Younse of Austin; seven sisters, Eula Bell Dement of Rotan, Jessie Morgan, Ruth Arnold and Mrs. Cleo Parrott, all of Roscoe, Vera Bruton of Big Spring, Jewel Richardson of Abilene and Mrs. Theo Scott of Stamford; a brother, Harold of Baytown; and two grandchildren. A son, Bobby, preceded him in death.
