Ralph Baker Obituary (Published by The Olympian on May 14, 2003) Ralph H. Baker, former resident of Steamboat Island Road, passed away May 4, 2003 while living in Idaho with his son, Robert, and daughter-in-law, Karen L. Baker.He was laid to rest May 8, 2003 at Olympic Memorial Gardens in Olympia, where he joins his wife, Mable W. Baker. When in Idaho, he was very much at peace, and enjoyed feeding the farm animals and fishing. He seemed very happy in his last days, but missed his wife, Mable, and spoke of her all of the time. He is now at rest with her, and we are sure they are together again. ∼ Ralph H Baker and his twin brother, Roy L were born on November 29, 1909, in Smith County, Kansas, to their father, Wright, and their mother Eva Stella. He had six brothers and five sisters. Ralph married Mabel on March 6, 1930, in Phillipsburg, Kansas, they settled in Olympia, on Steamboat Island Road. He worked in the woods and mills for both Simpson Timber Company and Weyerhaeuser Company. The couple had three children: Dorothy Danberg of Yuma, AZ, Delbert Baker, Shelton, WA and Robert Baker of St. Mary's Idaho. They had 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel who passed away at the age of 87, in 2002. As well as his grandsons; Lyle Scott and Doug Scott. He passed away May 4, 2003, while living in Idaho with his son, Robert, and daughter-in-law, Karen L Baker. When in Idaho, he was very much at peace, and enjoyed feeding the farm animals and fishing.
