Eva Stella Nichols was born to Francis Albert Nichols and Emma Nettie Buck at Concordia, Kansas on September 15, 1880, and died near Smith Center, Kansas., June 21, 1918, age 37 years, 9 months and 6 days. She married Wright Wales Baker, September 12, 1899, at Washington Township, Polk, IA and to them were born eight children: Ray, Belle, Nettie, Frank, Ralph (twin), Roy (twin), Edna and John. After a long and trying illness, Eva Stella died last Friday at her home.. Besides her own family she is survived by her parents, six sisters and four brothers, all of whom were present when she died except two of her sisters, Mrs. Minnie Johns of Emmett, Idaho and Mrs. Glenn Roath of Willard. We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to the friends and neighbors for their assistance and kind sympathy during the illness and funeral of our beloved wife and mother. Eva died a few months after John Delbert's birth and he and Edna went to live with his Aunt Lillie, Eva's sister. Funeral services were held in the White Eagle church Saturday afternoon, the services in charge of Rev A.E. Lathrop, the Free Methodist minister.
