Bio
Henry V Marek, 95, of Bartlett passed away Monday Sept 11 in a Bartlett nursing home. He was born July 21, 1911 in Granger to Vince L and Emilie (Janak) Marek. He was a retired farmer and a lifelong resident of the Bartlett/Granger area. He was a member of SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Granger. He was a lifetime member of SPJST and held several offices, including local chapter President. He was member and officer of the Farm Bureau, served as an election judge, and was a trustee for the Macedonia school district. He married Elizabeth D Vrana on Aug 25, 1936. She preceded him in death on Aug 22, 2006. He is survived by his daughters, Henrietta Haessly of Spring, Irene Schwertner of Schwertner, Margaret Eichelberger of The Woodlands, Carolyn Kaderka of Bartlett; sons Alvin A Marek of Bartlett, Victor V Marek of Schwertner, Dennis D Marek of Bartlett; 22 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; sisters Annie Mokry, Victoria Roddy, and Millie Pavlik; and brothers Engelbert T Marek and Andrew Marek. The funeral service was Sept 15 at SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Granger with burial following in Holy Cross Cemetery in Granger.
