Mr. Dent was born in Jeannette, Pennsylvania, the son of Natale and Philomena (Aquino) Dent. Carmen died at a local Sherman, Texas hospital after suffering a heart attack. Sergeant Dent was a Army Air Corp Veteran, and served at Perrin Air Force Base in Sherman before being assigned to the South Pacific during World War II where he was awarded a Purple Heart on 13 June 1944. On 13 December 1945, he married Miss Mary Fallon in Jeannette and they were blessed with four children. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sherman. Left to cherish his memories, he was survived by his loving wife; a son, Johnny Dent and three daughters, Carol Ann Dent, Mary Rose Dent and Susan Dent, all of Sherman; four brothers, Michael and Sylvester Dent, both of New York, New York, William and Israel Dent of Jeannette; one sister, Mrs. Louis Magoni of Ridgeway, Pennsylvania; and a number of nieces and nephews. A Rosary was recited at Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary's, officiated by the assistant pastor, Reverend Wilbert Flynn. Pallbearers were Bill Fallon, Charles Fallon, Bud McCullough, Joe Day, Jim Hendron and Edward Fallon.
