Bio
Laverne (Sonny) Gene Brune, 84 of Markham, Texas, passed peacefully on July 1, 2022. He was born on November 29,1937, to Edmund and Mary Brune. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, JoAnn Price Brune, sons Terry (Velenda) Brune and Richard (Lori) Brune, stepdaughters Donna (Keith) Brune and Nicole (Rick) Lucio, 13 grandkids, 26 great grandkids, and 2 great great grandkids. He is also survived by his siblings, Joyce Hunter, Mary Ann Brown, Debra (Rick) Williams, Royce (Patti) Brune, and sister-in-law, Bobbie Brune. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Gary Brune, daughter in-law Karen Brune, his brothers Kenneth, Michael and Jack Brune, his sister Sharon Dean, and brothers in law Trammel Hunter and Ralph Brown. Sonny served in the United States Air Force. He worked as a mechanic for most of his life. He enjoyed racing, deer hunting, and fishing. He was a kind Christian man. He had a quick wit and a great sense of humor. His greatest hope was that all of his family and friends would have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He will be greatly missed by his family. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, July 9, 2022, at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of Markham.
