Elsie Pearl Bisco Cook, 76, of 150 Short Lane, Columbia, Ky., formerly of Peoria, died at 1:40 p.m. Tuesday March 2, 1999, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Ky. Born May 28, 1922, in East Peoria to Arthur and Nellie Twiggs Bisco, she married William Martens Jan 16,1943. He died Dec. 16, 1945. She later married Everett Cook in 1950 and he died Aug. 28, 1987. Surviving are three sons, Tony Martens of Columbia, Kentucky, James Martens of Hurst, Texas, and Everett Cook of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; one daughter, Jessie Hood of Columbia, Ky.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren; four step-Great-grandchildren; one brother, Henry Bisco of Roanoke; and one sister, Agnes Gaba of East Peoria. She was a housekeeper for the YWCA for 20 years. She was a member of New Life Christian Fellowship Church in Columbia. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia, where visitation will be two hours before services. Interment will be in Columbia Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Foundation.
