In Pineville, La., at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 1928, Mrs. Alice Couvillion, aged 49 years. Deceased was born and reared in Marksville, but had resided in Alexandria for several years. She is survived by the following sons and daughters: Robert, Dewey, James, Eddie and Jessie Couvillion, Mrs. Q.M. Barnidge and Mrs. Dan Carter of Pineville; Mrs. Walter Dauzat of Alexandria; Mrs. Wickley Dauzat of Marksville. Her funeral took place Thursday, February 23. Interment was made in Rapides Cemetery in Pineville. Couvellion on her son James death certificate, informant was his brother Dewitt Smith. _________ mother is Columbe Dupuis. Columbe was married to Simeon Couvillion. father is potentially Benjamin Ponthieu. I have not solid proof of this BUT Benjamin Ponthieu and his wife Julie Mayeux divorced in 1876 (Civil File #5892) and it does mention Benjamin committing adultery with Columbe Dupuis.
