Resides at 701 Marion Ave, Portland OR. Nearest relative, George Hefner, 215 N. Chandler St, Topeka KS. Medium height, slender build, gray eyes and light brown hair. ------------------- Services will be at 9 a.m. Monday at Assumption Catholic Church for Joseph Thomas Hefner, 72, 2010 N. Quincey, who was dead on arrival at a Topeka hospital Thursday night. He had a heart ailment. He was born June 30, 1897 in Topeka where he spent most of his life. He was a member of Assumption Catholic Church. He was a machinist and worked for Santa Fe Railway and later for Seymour Foods. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Catherine Hefner at home; two sons, Bernard Hefner, Alexandia, Va., and Gerald Hefner, Springfield, Mo.; two daughters, Mrs. Lorraine Potter, La Mirada, Calif., and Mrs. Mildred Jones, Camden, S.C.; a brother, Theodore Hefner, 2940 Gage; 2 sisters, Mrs. Catherine Burkhart, 3827 Munson, and Mrs. Anna Schultz, 226 Chandler; and 13 grandchildren. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Hefner will lie in state from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Brennan Funeral Home where parish rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
